Field-of-Interest Funds Available by Quarter
Generous community-minded donors establish broad "field-of-interest" endowments to support favorite causes. These donors leave it up to Cumberland Community Foundation to support the best opportunities and greatest needs of the community as they change over the years.
Grants are available quarterly to 501(c)3 public charities with the principal office in Cumberland County, NC or qualified units of government in Cumberland County, NC (such as Parks & Rec). Applicants must be in good standing with the Secretary of State of NC, the IRS, and Cumberland Community Foundation.

April – June 2025
- Women & Girls – programs that improve the life circumstances of women and girls through long term, transformative change
- Historical Preservation – programs that support historic preservation and education about historic properties, primarily in Fayetteville, NC
- Human Services (broad purpose) – programs that improve the quality of life of those in greatest need
July – September 2025
- Children – programs that improve the quality of life for children
- Education – programs that increase education outcomes and access to educational enrichment
- Arts – programs that increase access to the arts with priority on visual arts
October – December 2025
- Healthcare – programs that increase access to quality health care and health care education
- Seniors – programs that improve the quality of life of senior citizens
January – March 2026
- Animals – programs that promote ethical treatment of animals with a no-kill approach to rescue and shelter
- Environment – programs that support environmental education and outreach
- Historical Preservation – programs that support historic preservation and education about historic properties, primarily in Fayetteville, NC
Available by invitation
- Quality of Life – any type of program that improves the quality of life of lower income families, ranging from access to the arts to basic human needs
- Innovative Program for Community Advancement – programs that take an innovative approach to address community-wide issues
